This means that six of the seven punished players have now lodged official appeals, the only exception being Mohammad Yousuf, who has retired from the game.”Malik’s counsel Ahmed Hussain has sent his appeal against the fine and ban, and now an independent arbitrator will deal with the case,” PCB’s legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi told AFP.Malik, who was in India recently for his marriage with Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, was banned for a year and fined Rs. 2 million ($24,000) for his role in inciting player unrest within the team. The Akmal brothers and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan lodged their appeals last week.Rizvi had earlier clarified that the appeal process does not employ an appellate tribunal, but that under the PCB constitution, they will be sent first to the governing board and through them to one of a list of PCB-appointed independent arbitrators. In this case the arbitrators are two retired Supreme court judges – Muneer Sheikh and Jamshed Ali Shah – and a former high court judge, Irfan Qadir.Commenting on a demand by Younis’ lawyer that the appeal process be held in public, Rizvi said that was a decision for the arbitrator to make. “Usually, in-house tribunal proceedings are never held in public, but it will be up to the arbitrator to regulate the procedure, which will be decided after the deadline of the appeal [April 16].”Afridi is the captain of the Pakistan team, for the upcoming World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies, which also includes the Akmal brothers.

With recent transfer rumours linking Adama Traore with a transfer move away from Wolves to fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, journalist Pete O’Rourke has dropped a behind-the-scenes claim over what the current state of play is between the player and Wolves which will surely have some fans concerned.

What’s the news?

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about Traore’s current situation at the Midlands club and what his immediate future could look like, O’Rourke had this to say on the matter.

He said: “Traore doesn’t look too happy at Wolves. I think maybe it’s time for both parties to move their separate ways.”

Traore joined Wolves in the 2018 summer transfer window from Championship side Middlesbrough in a deal worth a reported fee of £18m.

Since then, the 25-year-old has gone on to make 152 appearances for the Old Gold across all competitions, scoring ten goals and providing 18 assists in the process.

Fans sweating

Despite not managing to score a goal or provide an assist in 18 Premier League appearances so far this season, the Spaniard has still managed to earn himself an overall performance rating of 6.96/10, making him Wolves’ third-highest rated player according to WhoScored, highlighting the quality he has on the pitch.

His latest appearance came during Wolves’ recent 3-0 win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup where Traore earned himself an overall match rating of 7/10 from Birmingham Live and recognised the uncertainty around his future at the club by saying that “Traore could leave this month, but Wolves must do everything within their power to keep him before that happens.”

Having been previously reported that efforts from Wolves to get Traore to sign a new deal at Molineux have been unsuccessful, his apparent unhappiness at the club at this moment in time could well spell the end for him in a Wolves shirt.

With his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2023, it will be up to the club to see if they can get what they see as a suitable transfer fee for Traore rather than keep hold of him for the next year or so while he’s unhappy and lose him as a free agent when his deal runs out.

If Tottenham do make an approach to Wolves this month to sign Traore, it could be worth Wolves picking up a transfer fee for him and using that money to potentially sign another attacking player to replace him so Bruno Lage’s squad doesn’t lose any depth to it.

That said, it certainly won’t stop supporters from sweating over the speedster’s future at Molineux. Despite his lack of goals, he is still a mightily important player to the Old Gold.

According to De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij (via Sport Witness), Ajax are seriously interested in signing Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn and any potential deal for the Dutchman depends on Erik ten Hag’s side rather than Antonio Conte’s.

The Lowdown: Previous interest in Bergwijn

De Telegraaf and Voetbal International have previously reported that Ajax have made contact with Tottenham over the potential signing of the winger in the January transfer window. Verweij then reported that the 24-year-old is quite keen to join the Eredivisie champions.

According to reports by Verweij (via Sport Witness), Conte’s comments will have no bearing on the forward leaving the north London club. He claims that any potential deal is solely reliant on Ten Hag and Ajax rather than Conte and Spurs.

Speaking on De Telegraaf’s podcast, he said: “We do not have to attach too much value to Conte’s words. In the coming games we will see if he gets more playing time and then you can see if they really want to continue with him.

“Ajax are really serious about him. The interest has been officially announced to Spurs.

“Bergwijn has been polled by Ajax twice before. The first time when he still played for PSV, and then last summer. Twice, however, Ajax did not go through. The chance that Bergwijn will come to Ajax depends very much on Ajax. He is no longer waiting for Ajax.”

The Verdict: Potential departure for the right price

With a lack of game-time this season, it would not be a surprise if Tottenham were to let Bergwijn go if he pushes for a move in the January transfer window.

Conte has previously praised the winger, saying that ‘he has a lot of quality’ and that, as a part of the Italian’s squad, he is counting on the player.

However, with serious interest coming from Ajax and Sevilla, it does not seem unlikely that Bergwijn will leave Spurs in January, if a suitable offer is made for him.

تلقى أحمد حجازي قلب الدفاع المصري الدولي الضوء الأخضر من الطاقم الطبي لاتحاد جدة والذي يسمح له بالمشاركة أمام النصر يوم الأحد في الدوري السعودي.
