Preview: Celtic XI vs Real Betis

Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side head into Thursday evening’s fixture against Real Betis knowing that they can finish no higher or lower than their current third-place standing in Group G – something which will ultimately see the Bhoys drop into the UEFA Europa Conference League when European football starts up again in 2022.

As such, the 56-year-old manager knows that, with a number of extremely important fixtures ahead of the Hoops in the coming weeks, he can field a rotated side against the Spanish club, affording a number of his lesser-seen squad members some valuable first-team minutes against very decent opposition.

So, how many changes will the Greek-Australian boss make to the side which started the 3-0 win over Dundee United last weekend? Here’s how we think Celtic could line up against Real Betis, along with the latest team and injury news…

With Ange Postecoglou recently confirming that all four of Jota, Anthony Ralston, Giorgos Giakoumakis and James Forrest will miss the Real Betis fixture due to injury, we predict that the 56-year-old will make six changes to the team that started the game at Tannadice on Sunday.

The first of these changes comes between the Celtic sticks, with Joe Hart making way for 18-year-old Tobi Oluwayemi, who Celtic B coach Darren O’Dea dubbed a “really good” talent, as the youngster has highly impressed for the reserve side so far this season.

In the back four, 19-year-old left-back Adam Montgomery makes a return to the starting XI side after being left out of the club’s last two Europa League fixtures, while the “immense” Osaze Urhoghide is handed his Celtic debut alongside Carl Stafelt at centre-back.

In the middle of the park, James McCarthy replaces Tom Rogic in the central midfield three, while, in attack, Albian Ajeti is handed just his sixth start of the season up top, and Liel Abada returns on the right-wing in place of the injured James Forrest.

Sunderland fans slam Leon Dajaku

Flocking to Twitter, many Sunderland fans were less than impressed with the performance of Leon Dajaku during their 2-1 win over Cambridge United on Saturday.

Lee Johnson’s side are currently in the middle of a very tight race for automatic promotion, with just six points separating ninth place from top spot in the League One table. Points are precious with a plethora of teams currently well in contention to climb up the Football League ladder and into England’s second tier for the 2022/23 campaign.

After a disappointing 1-1 draw away to relegation battlers Shrewsbury last weekend, Sunderland got right back on track with a 2-1 victory over Cambridge.

An early own goal courtesy of Dimitar Mitov got the Black Cats off to a perfect start before Sam Smith levelled for the home side on 27 minutes.

However, it didn’t take long for Sunderland to restore their lead, with playmaker Nathan Broadhead netting just under 10 minutes later. The score stayed that way for the rest of the match as Johnson’s men got back to winning ways.

Sunderland fans slam Dajaku…

Despite a positive afternoon in terms of the final score, one man who attracted criticism from some Mackems supporters was loanee Dajaku.

The 20-year-old, currently on a temporary spell from Union Berlin, ranked as Sunderland’s lowest-rated player by a considerable distance after earning an underwhelming 6.1/10 rating from SofaScore.

Losing possession 24 times in total, the former Bayern Munich man found just 20% of his crosses whilst only completing a quarter of his attempted dribbles. Also, the 2019/20 Bundesliga winner won a meagre four of his 13 ground duels at the Abbey Stadium and was largely kept under wraps by Cambridge’s backline. (SofaScore)

Taking all this into account, it’s little wonder that some supporters believed his performance was ‘bang average’.

Check out some of their verdicts below:

“Dajaku doesn’t convince me. Too often when he got the ball he did nothing proactive with it. Broadhead and Stewart worked well together, Big Ross ran his socks off today. I like Pritch, he’s busy and always offers an option, you can see his quality, but gives the ball away 2/3”

“From what I’ve seen so far from Hoffman and Dajaku no way would I be making their loans permanent, bang average at League One”

“Dajaku is painful bad”

“Tell you what mind. What on earth did Bayern ever see in Dajaku?”

“Dajaku really is useless”

“Keep Broadhead fit and we’ll go up. Gooch was mustard today. Dajaku less said the better. Dan Neil just the usual Rolls Royce performance”

Sheffield United confirm the signing of Scott Hogan on loan from Aston Villa

[ad_pod ]

Sheffield United have confirmed the signing of Scott Hogan from Aston Villa, with the forward joining on a loan deal until the end of the season as reported by the BBC.

What’s the word, then?

The Blades expressed an interest in signing the 26-year-old back in the summer, as per the BBC, and they have now finally landed their man after Hogan fell out of favour under Dean Smith at Villa Park.

Hogan has made just seven appearances for the Villans this season, including six from the bench, as per Whoscored, and has failed to score a single goal as Tammy Abraham runs riot up top in his place.

Thogden has ranked his top 5 sets of Championship away fans for Pl>ymaker FC. Did your club make the list? Find out in the video below…

Villa signed Hogan from Brentford exactly a year ago today in a deal totalling £12m (as per the BBC), but he has managed to score just six goals in 38 Championship appearances for the club during a disappointing spell in the Midlands, via Whoscored.

Whose place will he threaten at his new club?

Strangely, it looks highly unlikely that Hogan will threaten any player’s place, not immediately at least. The Blades have 18-goal Billy Sharp in their ranks, who is just one goal off the aforementioned Abraham at the top of the Championship scoring ranks.

Alongside Sharp, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has 31-year-old David McGoldrick, who has an impressive ten goals to his name so far in the league this season, as per Transfermarkt.

Hogan’s arrival looks to be purely to play backup to the aforementioned pair, unless he manages to impress Wilder in training. As previously mentioned, however, the Blades have been eyeing the former Brentford man for a while now, so he will surely have some sort of role to play at Bramall Lane, rather than being stuck on the bench.

It is worth noting that McGoldrick is 31 and Sharp is 32 years of age, so Hogan’s arrival may be with a view to turning the move permanent and hoping he can succeed whichever one of the pair starts to decline first.

Pearce confirms Origi’s summer exit

Divock Origi will definitely leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window, reports reliable journalist James Pearce.

The Lowdown: Origi exit expected

The Belgian has enjoyed a truly memorable Reds career, rarely being a key player but popping up with a long list of massive goals along the way, both in the Premier League and Champions League.

With Origi out of contract at the end of the season, he is expected to move on, with AC Milan looking highly likely to be his next destination.

It will allow the 27-year-old to be a regular elsewhere, potentially further fulfilling his promise, having been described as ‘world-class’ and a ‘monster’ by Jurgen Klopp.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/latest-liverpool-transfer-news-30/” title=”Latest Liverpool transfer news!” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=“none”]

The Latest: Pearce confirms imminent move

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Pearce confirmed that Origi would definitely be moving on once this campaign reaches this conclusion:

“Divock Origi will leave Liverpool this summer.”

The Verdict: Undisputed Liverpool legend

When the time finally comes for Origi to leave Liverpool, he will receive a wonderful and deserved send-off from the supporters, having become a Reds legend.

His cult hero status can almost work against what a top-quality attacker he is, though, with the forward scoring 41 goals and 173 appearances in total, not to mention registering 17 assists.

It makes perfect sense for Origi to move on, given his lack of playing time, and it would be heartwarming to see him performing as a key man elsewhere.

Ottis Gibson keen on batting coach

Following a series of failed run-chases in the home series against South Africa, West Indies head coach Ottis Gibson has identified the role of a batting coach as critical to his team’s fortunes

Cricinfo staff28-May-2010Following a series of failed run-chases in the home series against South Africa, West Indies head coach Ottis Gibson has identified the role of a batting coach as critical to his team’s fortunes.”At the end of this Digicel Series, we will sit down and look at what I believe my ideal coaching staff to be and that will include a batting coach for the long term,” Gibson told reporters ahead of the third ODI. West Indies have already lost the two Twenty20 fixtures and the first two ODIs of the series. Former captain Jimmy Adams stepped in as a batting coach during the recently concluded World Twenty20, but currently the slot is empty.”Jimmy came in and did a very good job and I will sit down with the CEO (Dr. Ernest Hilarie) and put together that coaching staff and a batting coach will certainly be high on the agenda,” Gibson said. After a lacklustre start to their chase of 301 in the second ODI, which suggested a repeat of the previous match where they missed the target by some distance, West Indies fought back admirably through Dwayne Bravo and Darren Sammy to give the visitors a scare. Gibson identified the loss of Bravo’s wicket as the turning point of the game.”Bravo got out to the last ball of an over that had conceded 13 runs and it was the last ball of a bowler’s (Dale Steyn) spell. Those little things we need to get better at,” Gibson said.”We’ve created winning opportunities. Before you win, you have to create the opportunity to win. Those opportunities have not been strong enough. We have not thought through well enough. Talent-wise we’re not far behind South Africa, thinking-wise – we’re showing that we’re very far behind,” he said.

England women player ratings vs Italy: Lauren Hemp stars and Ella Toone shines off the bench as Lionesses romp to victory to end warm-weather camp with a bang

Sarina Wiegman's side backed up Friday's 7-2 win over Austria as another goal-filled outing in Marbella capped off a strong start to 2024

There were only 60 seconds on the clock when Lotte Wubben-Moy, making just her third England start, set the tone for the Lionesses' second fixture of 2024. With exactly a minute played, the Arsenal defender adjusted brilliantly to direct Alex Greenwood's corner up and over Italy goalkeeper Laura Giuliani in what was the first of three set pieces the Azzurre would concede from in an emphatic 5-1 win for Sarina Wiegman's side.

There was a lot of talk about Italy ahead of this game. After disappointing at back-to-back tournaments, at the European Championships in 2022 and then last year's World Cup, they have made big improvements under new head coach Andrea Soncin, with an impressive and intense pressing game even helping them to beat world champions Spain recently. But England faced up to the challenges Italy presented and exploited one big weakness that Soncin is yet to fix, that inability to defend dead-ball situations.

Wubben-Moy nearly had a second only moments after breaking the deadlock, Chloe Kelly's delivery wreaking havoc this time, before Lauren Hemp made it two on 20 minutes when an attempted clearance ricocheted off her and into the back of the net. If she couldn't take much credit for that one, she could for the second, a fantastic header from Stanway's cross far too well-placed for Giuliani to reach.

Italy did pull a goal back before the break, capitalising on sloppiness at the back from Greenwood with an incisive move that Michela Cambiaghi finished off. But England restored that three-goal cushion thanks to the impact off the bench when Lauren James teed up Ella Toone for a brilliant volley in the latter stages and then Rachel Daly made it five, pouncing on a mistake and showing wonderful composure to net for the second successive game as a substitute.

GOAL rates England's players from Estadio Nuevo Mirador…

GettyGoalkeeper & Defence

Mary Earps (6/10):

Made herself big for a fantastic stop to deny Cantore in the first half but nearly gave Italy a goal when she passed right to the same player in the second.

Lucy Bronze (7/10):

Brilliant effort to keep the ball in play in the build-up to Hemp's second. Defended well.

Lotte Wubben-Moy (7/10):

Broke the deadlock with a fantastic header after 60 seconds and almost had a brace moments later. Solid performance.

Alex Greenwood (6/10):

Delivered superb set pieces, including the assist for Wubben-Moy's opener, and played an excellent ball for James for England's fourth. Made a sloppy error that led to Italy's goal, however.

Niamh Charles (5/10):

Better going forward but a poor backpass nearly allowed Italy to pull a goal back and her marking wasn't tight enough when they eventually did. Off at half time.

AdvertisementGettyMidfield

Keira Walsh (8/10):

Dictated play well with some nice passes to break the lines and get attacks going. Classy display.

Georgia Stanway (8/10):

Excellent with her trademark late runs into the box and her energy in the press. Great assist for Hemp's second.

Grace Clinton (8/10):

Lovely footwork in midfield, which often helped England win free-kicks in dangerous positions. Always positive when she picked the ball up.

GettyAttack

Chloe Kelly (6/10):

She and Greenwood were a great tag-team on set pieces to cause Italy problems.

Alessia Russo (5/10):

Didn't have many chances and did well to hit the target with her only notable opening. Off at half time.

Lauren Hemp (8/10):

Didn't know much about her first goal but took her second brilliantly. So close a hat-trick at the end, too.

Lauren James (7/10):

Replaced Russo at half time and nearly got on the scoresheet with a wicked left-footed effort from range that was well saved. Got an assist, though, with a superb run and cross for Toone.

Jess Carter (6/10):

Also on at the break, at left-back for Charles, she was solid in her defending and got forward well.

Ella Toone (7/10):

Replaced Stanway just past the hour and volleyed home impressively just a few minutes later.

Jess Park (6/10):

Had just under half an hour to make an impact and did get involved, though not as much as other subs.

Rachel Daly (7/10):

On for the final 20 minutes or so and managed to get on the scoresheet, pouncing brilliantly on a poor pass at the back.

Millie Turner (N/A):

Made her long-awaited England debut in the final stages of the game.

Sarina Wiegman (8/10):

Got a look at several different players again with another round of rotation. Will have liked what she saw from Wubben-Moy and could be onto something with the midfield trio of Walsh, Stanway and Clinton.

Strikers trial Mark Higgs and Brad Young

Adelaide Strikers have delved deep into Australian cricket’s spin bowling archives in their search for a left-arm spinner to replace the injured Jon Holland, trialling the long forgotten slow bowling of Brad Young and Mark Higgs

Daniel Brettig23-Nov-2012Adelaide Strikers have delved deep into Australian cricket’s spin bowling archives in their search for a left-arm spinner to replace the injured Jon Holland, trialling the long forgotten slow bowling of Brad Young and Mark Higgs.Young last played for South Australia in 2003 and Higgs finished up with the Redbacks in 2005 before moving to play for the ACT in Canberra. Both had brief dalliances with the Australia team, Higgs picked for the 2000 ICC Trophy in Kenya and Young taking a hat-trick at the 1998 Commonwealth Games while also making six official ODI appearances. But one of the two now appears likely to emulate the comebacks of Stuart MacGill and Brad Hogg in this summer’s BBL, as the Strikers seek to fill one of two remaining holes in their squad. While 39-year-old Young has been sighted at South Australia squad training this season, Higgs was flown down from Canberra to trial, and demonstrated a vast repertoire that includes both left-arm orthodox and over-the-wrist variations. He finished the trial match with five wickets.”Both were good, Higgsy played in the game down here and he took some wickets and Brad’s playing for the Grange cricket club and has been playing down the years,” Strikers coach Darren Berry told ESPNcricinfo. “So they’re both thereabouts, albeit being outside first-class cricket for a while. I’m prepared as always to have an open mind about where we go, we haven’t made a decision on it yet, but those two are two that are under consideration.”We’ve got two replacement players to find. We’ve taken Cameron Boyce on our list which we’re excited about, we took him initially but we’ll still look for one more as a replacement player.”Spin has been a major plank of Berry’s T20 strategy since coming to South Australia, and his teams have prospered with the likes of Nathan Lyon, Adil Rashid and Aaron O’Brien. Last summer the Strikers tried the old and young combination of Bryce McGain and James Muirhead, who has this season signed with the Melbourne Renegades. While the highly-skilled Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal will take a place in the Strikers’ squad for at least one match, Boyce will be the team’s go-to slow bowler for much of the competition, leaving Berry to consider Young or Higgs as another option. The Strikers had also made attempts to sign the legspinner Fawad Ahmed, who had recently been granted Australian residency, but he too has joined the Renegades.”Given we’ve gone with Boyce as a young legspinner, James Muirhead was our project player last year, someone with real talent, but he’s been snapped up by the Renegades,” Berry said. “So we’ve picked Boyce as a younger spinner playing first-class cricket for Queensland who we think has got a game that can do the job for us. So he’s the main one.”But we’re also looking at someone who can come in and do a role, I’m big in T20 on players coming in to do a role for certain games against certain opposition, so that’s what I’m looking at.”The Sydney Sixers, meanwhile, have signed the Queensland swing bowler Luke Feldman as the final domestic player in their squad. The Sixers are also looking out for an overseas replacement for Umar Akmal after the Pakistani batsman could only commit to one game when he had initially been available for three.”It was a surprise to hear from Stuart [Clark, Sixers general manager] as I thought they would have had their roster completed but I was chuffed at the call,” Feldman said. “The opportunity to play with some of the big stars such as Brett Lee and David Warner was too good to pass up, as well as playing for the reigning champions. I’m looking forward to it.”

Man Utd player ratings vs Liverpool: An absolutely disgraceful Anfield display

Erik ten Hag's side suffered the club's worst-ever Premier League defeat as they succumbed to a 7-0 loss on Merseyside

A debacle that no-one saw coming. Manchester United produced one of the most shocking performances of their entire history, and in one of their best periods in the last decade, as they were thrashed by Liverpool at Anfield.

Raphael Varane had a horror show, Casemiro was powerless to stop Liverpool's midfield and Luke Shaw made a series of errors.

And after a promising first-half display that ended with United going behind to Cody Gakpo's wonderstrike against the run of play, Erik ten Hag's side completely lost the plot.

To tell the truth, they were fortunate to only concede seven, while they were also toothless in attack, with Antony frequently slowing the team's play down.

GOAL rates the Manchester United players from their worst-ever result at Anfield…

Getty ImagesGoalkeeper & Defence

David de Gea (4/10):

Stood little chance with most of the goals aprat from the seventh. Has conceded 11 goals in his last two visits to Anfield.

Diogo Dalot (5/10):

Struggled to contain Robertson in the first half although contributed to a few promising attacks.

Raphael Varane (4/10):

Was turned by Gakpo for the opener and his head dropped in the second half, just when United needed his leadership in defence.

Lisandro Martinez (5/10):

Made some important blocks and was good in possession but crucially lost his footing against Salah for the third goal. Struggled in the air in second half.

Luke Shaw (4/10):

Had a decent first half but a sloppy pass at the start of the second helped Liverpool grab the second and it was all downhill from there.

AdvertisementGetty ImagesMidfield

Fred (4/10):

Frequently over-ran in midfield and his slip allowed Gakpo to latch on to Robertson's pass for the opening goal. Taken off early in second half.

Casemiro (4/10):

Didn't do loads wrong but given his recent performances and his experience in games of this nature he fell well short.

Bruno Fernandes (5/10):

Missed the first proper chance – although it wasn't an easy move to pull off – and was sloppy with his through balls.

Getty ImagesAttack

Antony (4/10):

Had a decent early effort but often slowed the play down by taking too long on the ball.

Wout Weghorst (3/10):

Lacked confidence to beat defenders and was sloppy with his passing. He is fortunate the only competitor for his position is the eternally-injured Anthony Martial.

Marcus Rashford (4/10):

Should have done better with two good opportunities – one in each half – and lacked sharpness.

Getty ImagesSubs & Manager

Scott McTominay: (4/10)

Offered some fight at first but then struggled like everyone else and was fortunate to only be shown a yellow card for late tackle on Gakpo.

Alejandro Garnacho (5/10):

Did offer a faint spark in attack but stood no real chance against a dominant Liverpool midfield and defence.

Tyrell Malacia (5/10):

Looked shellshocked when he came on, and who can blame him?

Marcel Sabitzer (5/10):

Could do nothing to stop the rot.

Anthony Elanga (N/A)

Introduced with five minutes to go

Erik ten Hag (4/0)

Played the same starting XI as in the Carabao Cup final and made the wrong call in selecting Dalot over Wan-Bissaka. Made lots of substitutions but they only made things worse.

Liverpool player ratings vs Brentford: There's just no stopping Mohamed Salah! Egyptian king on target at Anfield again as Reds cruise to victory

The winger scored twice before Diogo Jota added a thumping third goal as Jurgen Klopp's men bounced back after a couple of disappointing results

Mohamed Salah just loves Anfield! The prolific winger became the first player to ever score in Liverpool's first six home games of a season in Sunday's facile 3-0 win over Brentford as the hosts climbed to second in the Premier League standings – for the time being at least.

Salah, who has now been involved in 119 goals in his last 117 outings at Anfield, opened the scoring after taking a Darwin Nunez pass in his stride towards the tail end of the first half and then doubled the Reds' advantage with a fine header from Kostas Tsimikas' cut-back. Diogo Jota completed the scoring with a thumping finish from the edge of the area 16 minutes from time.

Below, GOAL rates all of the Liverpool players on show as Jurgen Klopp's men bounced back from a lucky 1-1 draw at Luton last week, and Thursday's shock Europa League loss in Toulouse…

Getty Goalkeeper & Defence

Alisson Becker (7/10):

Made a couple of decent stops when called upon.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (7/10):

Very nearly gifted Brentford a goal with a shocking pass in the first half but was very impressive going forward, playing his part in the opener, while a stunning pass deserved a better finish from Salah.

Joel Matip (6/10):

Harshly booked but perhaps a tad lucky to avoid a second yellow early in the second half. A decent display but still looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Virgil van Dijk (7/10):

A characteristically assured performance. Really does look to be back to something approaching his best. Indeed, he saved a certain goal with one fantastic clearance.

Kostas Tsimikas (8/10):

Retained his starting spot despite giving away a goal in midweek and turned in his most impressive performance in a red shirt for some time, contributing two assists.

AdvertisementGetty Midfield

Dominik Szoboszlai (6/10):

One of his quieter performances since arriving during the summer.

Wataru Endo (6/10):

Got a rare chance to start in the Premier League because of Alexis Mac Allister's suspension and was good on the ball for the most part. However, a poor first touch resulted in a desperate lunge that very nearly earned him a red card.

Cody Gakpo (6/10):

Once again started in midfield because of Liverpool's injury issues but while he worked hard, and had a couple of efforts from distance, he was once again largely ineffective in a deeper role. Subbed late on.

Getty Attack

Mohamed Salah (9/10):

Lethal as always! Was no chance of him missing after being slipped in by Nunez and took his header wonderfully well. Just a class act.

Darwin Nunez (7/10):

Deserved to get on the scoresheet after having two goals chalked off for offside. Still, he got yet another assist for Salah with a nice lay-off.

Diogo Jota (8/10):

A constant threat and got his just reward for an energetic display with a fine strike from distance that flew into the back of the net.

Harvey Elliott (N/A):

Only came on late for Jota.

Luis Diaz (N/A):

Received a rapturous welcome when introduced in place of Jota but not enough time to make an impact.

Jarell Quansah (N/A):

Brought on in the dying seconds.

James McConnel (N/A):

Made his debut in injury time.

Jurgen Klopp (8/10):

A routine win and his hand was forced by injuries but the manager got all his big calls correct.

From Raul Jimenez to Pulisic – Goal's U.S., Mexico & North America award winners for 2019

Goal looks at the best and worst from men's soccer in the region this year including Mexico's Gold Cup stars and Honduras' roller-coaster season

FREDERIC J. BROWNBest Player – Raul Jimenez, Mexico

What a year for Raul Jimenez. He scored eight goals for Mexico, including five during the Gold Cup when he helped lead El Tri to the regional title.

With his club, he's been unstoppable as well, helping Wolves push into the knockout stages of the Europa League and also playing a big role in upsets over teams like Manchester City.

With eight goals in Premier League play, Jimenez sits just outside the top 10 in the Premier League. Combine his nine Europa League goals, though, and you'll begin to understand why he was the most important Concacaf player in Europe this season and is Mexico's No. 9 for the foreseeable future.

AdvertisementFrederic J. BrownCoach of the Year – Marc Collat, Haiti

Marc Collat's Haiti ended the year on a bitter note, getting relegated from its Concacaf Nations League group. Yet, you have to understand the challenges with which Collat is working.

Haiti wasn't able to play its second set of CNL matches at home because of political turmoil in the country, and already the manager is pulling players from all over the globe.

Now, the path back to the Gold Cup involves extra qualification. So why is Collat the Coach of the Year? Because in this year's Gold Cup, Haiti was the story of the tournament, getting into the semifinals and pushing eventual champion Mexico to extra time.

They did it thanks to strong game plans from Collat and a collective mentality the coach instituted despite cultural and language barriers few other teams have to overcome.

Getty ImagesBreakout Star – Charly Rodriguez, Mexico

Carlos Rodriguez already is such a fixture with the Mexico national team that it's difficult to remember that his debut came in this calendar year. With Hector Herrera out of a March friendly, Rodriguez stepped into the void and didn't look at all out of place in a 3-1 win against Chile.

His showings with Monterrey also have been quality, with the 22-year-old midfielder impressing during the Club World Cup and eventually lifting the Liga MX title with Rayados.

Now, he's being asked questions about heading to Europe, something that would only help him become a bigger star in the region.

GettyFuture star flying under the radar – Jonathan David, Canada

Jonathan David was the Golden Boot winner at this summer's Gold Cup with six goals in four matches.

He scored a dozen goals with Gent last year, a mark he's set to surpass with nine already this season. Oh, and he's 19. Why are we not talking more about this guy?

Sure, the Gold Cup goal tally was run up thanks to a hat-trick against a hapless Cuba, but as Canada pushes to make the World Cup in 2022 before hosting four years later, we're going to be seeing David have plenty of success against more formidable teams in the very near future.
